"2ND SHIFT" - THE WOLF'S SYNDICATED EVENING SHOW

Considering that Amy's show sounds tracked and has a minimal amount of local content anyway, its worth a shot. Personally, I think if they (KMPS) were going for live and local, they could have picked a better choice, or just stuck with Lia...Of course then they can't control the avails as well as they can with a local talent.

Alan is a great talent, I remember listening to him on WZOU in Boston when I was a kid. He does (or, at least did, amazing phone bits)

Unfortunately his last syndicated attempt wasn't great, but I'll be listening, with great interest, to hear how he handles his foray into Country.

However, it is a shame to see some great nighttime jocks replaced by syndicated fare. Kramer on the Wolf here in Seattle was a pretty decent teen oriented night jock. Keola, last of Kiss 106.1 was in SF working for Scott at the Wolf by the Bay.

I hope all of the displaced jocks land on their feet.

Alan Kabel was a great jock. I remember him from the 80s/90s CHR days. Just an over the top insano night jock. Obviously, he has calmed down a bit.

And yes, his last syndicated deal, a HOT A/C night show, was a bomb. It was like listening to him neutred. Hopefully he ramps it back up for country.

Think about this. Entercom has launched their own syndicated HOT A/C night show, now Country, what next? This is their answer to saving money. If I were a night jock within the company I might be shaking.

Good luck to all the out of work jocks.

The "hub & spoke" theory of voicetracking/syndication has re-appeared.

Good luck to everyone.

Syndicated will never work when listeners realize they can never get through to request - especially at night.

I predict Amy Lynn's show will do even better than when she was against Kramer. She's got the right idea with her show.

I think that this is a valid statement. Amy is decent as a stand alone talent but I think she thrives better when paired up with someone who can help carry the load. Live and local with out a doubt always better, yet in this day and age with Wall Street ruling the radio dial syndication seems to be the way of the cost cutters.

Imagine if Amy was paired up with a guy and the show was CMT styled with entertainment, local callers, artist interviews and Nashville News.....
