3 All-Sports Stations: oh yeah, that's a great idea...

I suppose this was inevitable, with 3 AM all-sports stations in the market, but as I write this, KTRB 860 and KNBR 680 are *both* airing FOX Sports Radio's "Webber & Deese", while 1050 has something from ESPN. 3 stations, nobody live'n'local on a Saturday morning when the Raiders & Niners play each other and the Giants and A's both have games. Not only is that sad, but what happened to exclusivity? 680 and 1050 have simulcast shows many times, but they have the same owner. Why would competing stations both run the same syndicated program? Surely there are other choices?

I would start by uninstalling Gary Radnich as the icon of sports commentary in the Bay Area. I understand he is a wonderful human being and very congenial, but he wears the crown by default.

I like sports radio so I'm happy to have choices...but with 680 and 1050 simulcasting many of their programs, it's not as many choices as it would be otherwise. KNBR is definitely missing an opportunity to cover more ground; for example, I might listen to one or the other between 3-7pm but both have that 'Razor and Mr. T' program on which I personally can't stand- so I listen to neither and usually opt for 860 in that time slot.
