Ok, so weather does make big news around here sometimes and it tends to be blown out of proportion IMHO.
But, last night on Channel 3, their lead in story was about FROST. Did anyone else see this? They even had their "Mobile Newsroom" out and a reporter talking about how cold it's going to get.

Well, folks, here's an even bigger story. ITS THE END OF OCTOBER!! It's supposed to get cold!!

Did anyone else see this as totally rediculous? They cold have started with the Red Sox, or even that awful accident on I-95. But, no they were talking about FROST. It almost makes me want to watch Channel 8 again.
 
I see stations get their priorities messed up all the time. I've seen Sporting events as the lead story instead of traffic accidents where people have died. God forbid if I didn't know that a certain player left a team to go work with a different team. We all know that's so much more important than a car crash that killed three people.

When I see this sort of thing I just change the station and watch the newscast that doesn't have it's priorities so far out of wack!

You mean they shouldn't lead off with the stuff that makes the viewers happy? People incessantly complain about how depressing the news is, but when the lead off story is something other then the current death total from Iraq, everyone flips.

If stations were concerned about making viewers happy they would only report on Lottery Winners and on people who got raises at work. The News isn't supposed to make us happy. It's supposed to be a painful reminder 3 times each day of how much life sucks. ;)
 
I have noticed weather is sometimes 3's top story. That is rather ridiculous. I like Channel 3, but they frequently do this. Also, I hate when they label everything as Breaking News with the introduction blaring in the background, and it's nothing more than the weather. I rarely see the news open happen, and the anchors appearing. It's always that Breaking News tag.
 
Well, as I said, blizzards, severe thunderstorms and floods are one thing. But frost in late October? Come on guys!!
