"3 Hour Lunch" on the Zone

When the "3 Hour Lunch" first debuted on 104.5 The Zone a few months ago, I thought it was a breath of Fresh Air over what they had been airing from 12 Noon to 3 PM. But over the last three weeks or so, I'm starting to tire of one of the members of the show, namely Clay Travis. I think both Brett Doughtry and Blaine Bishop do a very good job on what their roles are on the show, especially Bishop since this is his gig in radio on a daily Sports tlak show. But Clay Travis I find very iritating and tiring after a few weeks. He comes across as a "Know It All" and a "Smart Aleck". He talks down to both guest and callers, he "Sterotype" entire fan bases and he SPEND entiring too much time talking about himself and all his exploits, namely his drinking and womanizing in his youth and what he does on the week ends. It gets very tiring after a while. I'm a Tennessee Vols fan, but the way he talks about other teams fan bases, you can only take so much.

I never thought I would say this, but I may actually prefer the former host from 2-3 each day than I do Clay Travis.

Sounds like George Plaster at times.

I haven't found Travis to be too irritating, as I usually write off a lot of that stuff to trash talking. I think the main problem is that we've entered the summer lull in the sports talk world just before the football news and talk starts up, so there's more time for the incidental talk. Travis is a hot property for the Zone, so they'll not lose him, but still, I know that the PD would be interested to hear directly from you that you think Travis should lighten up.

He is irritating and is a click factor for me. Blaine Bishop is TERRIBLE and has no business on the radio everyday for 3 hours. Daugherty is good though not as the facilitator. He'd be better in a side role like Willy Daunic. The PD wants this type of show so I don't think he cares what anyone says.

Travis is great. He has strong opinions. I think he is very entertaining.

My major complaint with The Zone is too many callers. I want to hear the pros.

Have you guys ever listened to the Ticket in Dallas? That is the way to run a sports station.

In other words, The Zone is the anti-ESPN Radio. ;D
