Hot 97.5 should consider adding

Hot Chelle Rae - tonight tonight
Neon trees - Your surrender...
etc.

I'm a bit puzzled with their choice to add Lupe Fiasco and Martin Solveig, although, I AM NOT COMPLAINING!!
(I like both of them, but I'm sure some of you can guess which one of the two makes me say "I'm not complaining" the most).

I must say nice move with adding Hot Chelle Rae on Hot 97.5!

3 THINGS:

1. HOT 97.5: It's interesting how Hot 97.5 has shifted from heavier pop rock lean sound to straight up "middle of the road" pop. Also, right now, they sound like a PERFECT station for Cumulus! I'm not a big fan of Cumulus's style, but the station sounds alright. I remember back when they first started off, I mentioned that they were eventually going to shift more rhythmic, but I never imagined that they'd go this far. They're somewhat like the old, later Movin', but without the old school r&b, dance, and hip hop double plays every hour.

2. POWER 98.3: Welcome back Clarissa Jenkins (or however you spell her name) on Power 98.3 next week with Boy Loco & Dj Class with (the conveniently named) Loco mix in the morning! I just wonder what the 'new' 12 o clock noon hip hop mix on Power is called? Although I haven't caught it for the past two weeks, I do notice that the "old school at noon" is gone, being that brand new hip hop hits have been added along with some of the 90's and early to mid 00's hip hop. And although Power still has their hip hop lean, I do notice some "slick" subtle mixshow changes lately; Slight increases in lengthier uptempo sets in some of their weekday mixes, slightly sounding a little more and more like the KZON style to a degree. Could it be that Power 98.3 is now trying to get a little Slick & Slight? ?? ...

3. MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND! Memorial Day Weekend is about to hit... the OFFICIAL KICK OFF to summer! I just wonder; With all the pop / rhythmic / top 40 stations we have, WHO will be doing SOMETHING for Memorial Day Weekend (in the form of mixing)? I mean... Power 98.3 seems to be bringing "old things" back with a new twist, so... couldn't they also bring back the all weekend mixes?? Will KZZP be doing anything different, fun, and special this coming weekend? And what about everyone else I've left out? KNRJ? KMVA?.... KVIB, KAJM,.... KQMR? Heck, will Radio Disney mix? I didn't include KZON because they already sound good enough as it is, but... even on top of all that, I'm sure they'll STILL do SOMETHING!

The more and more I listen to old airchecks from KKFR, the more I realize how sad the state of Power is now. I miss the days of Power 92 in the early/Mid 90's.

The new mixshow is called "The Power Lunch Hour" mix, they got rid of the original Old Skool Mix @ Noon a couple weeks ago. The only female on air jocks on Power is on the weekends: Felicia, Athena Sanchez, and Yaya Martinez.

That's when Power sounded best! Better PD's, a better and full power signal @ 92.3 and original owners The Broadcast Group. Emmis and Riviera destroyed what was once a great heritage Rhythmic/CHR station! Very sad!

Couldn't resist....

1. Hot 97.5 now sounds more CHR than HotAC. Obviously they realize the flip was not in their benefit.

2. Power has also shifted yet again. Even though they still include some Pop, they avoid certain BIG songs (or they add them way late), but for some reason, Power will dig up questionable Urban recurrents just to replace the lack of current Hip Hop

3. It seems KDM is the only one who makes a big deal over mixshows on this board. I can tell you the only station that will have a non-stop mix will be 90.7 The Goldmine. I start Friday at 5pm and will go until Monday evening.

Hey azradiofan. Your "full powered signal" for KKFR @92.3 was and remains today (KTAR-FM) the same. According to radio-info it is 98kw -- or only .08% of the legal limit. Much too miniscule to measure on anything but a FIM (Field Intensity Meter). :-\

The highest rated Towers Mountain signal consistently 18-49 ... doesn't seem that sad. You can't compare 2011 to 1993... that's insanity.
