This is interesting ... I have another version of this that is more scoped but more complete. Seems weird that they unscope the music on this check -- yet edit a bunch of the jock segments out (an AWESOME check of Bob Hooper got cut from this version, for example).
For those who care...end of that day featured "Lee Chase" (KOL PD at the time) doing the transition -- where they played "So Very Hard to Go", then came back with an instrumental to be able to synch up to KOL-FM at 6pm. Lee invited everyone to "Put It Where you Want It" .... and with that the legendary station faded giving way to Waylon and Willie and the boys.
HARD TO BELIEVE thirty years have slipped by since that weekend. Even with only two Top 40's left, KING and KJR had a heckuva time hanging on much longer with FM starting to cannibalize the audience from AM music stations.
