300 foot Tower down in Largo

I have heard reports of a tower down in Largo anyone have any information on this?
According to WFLA TV and another report I read online, the tower was an auxiliary tower for the Pinellas county Sheriff's Dept; since it was their backup tower, no communications were interrupted, thankfully.

The tower was located approximately across the street from the Largo Mall. The tower was a self supporting, with a big wide base. The tower folded over about half way up. I drove by, it appears that this won't me a major deal to repair. Public Service communications was still running smoothly.

I bet there were a bunch of brown shorts at the radio shop, right at the base of the tower!! One of their techs lurks on this board, perhaps he will comment

As for that tower's height, I don't believe it's 300 feet, or anything close to it -- the tower used for the school board's WPDS-LD, about a mile north, is roughly 150 feet and looked taller than the sheriff's antenna.

Hey guys! The tower was for our old VHF and UHF systems "Radio-MDT" along with some other county channels. The tower was 220ft and folded just as it should had at around 130ft. Winds exceeded 100mph at the top of the tower. The tower was rated at 150mph but the tower was over 30 years old. The beacon and other parts hit my truck and really messed it up bad "over 3,500.00 in damage".
