35 Movies to ION/MASH Returns as well

ION Television has picked up the rights to 35 movies from various studios including The Fugutive, Death Wish, and The Godfather Trilogy.

ION will also gonna begin airing MASH 4PM-5PM replacing repeats of Texas Justice, which was getting poor ratings. This is good news for MASH fans as Hallmark has taken the show off the air and it's only getting a limited run in marathon blocks on TV LAND.

I wonder if ION is considering a push beyond owned-and-operated affiliates for its main network/channel. With the added movies and TV shows, you'd have to think they'd get a few takers as an DT sub-channel.

Neat. Let us know when they pick up programming starring Kelsey Grammer.

In Chicago, as long as Weigel Broadcasting has the rights to Cheers & Frasier, Ion wouldn't be able to air those 2 shows in Chicago, unless there was some kind of cross broadcast agreement. It seems to be something that WGN & WWME-LD (MeTV) has in Chicago. I don't know that for sure, but I've seen WGN-TV air The Andy Griffith Show during the overnight hours on certain nights of the week, while MeTV has it on almost everyday.

As for Ion TV adding more shows to their network; it would be great if they can actually make it into an actual network, instead of relying heavily on infomercials. As it stands, I only watch Ion Life and not Ion. My mom likes to watch Ghost Whisperer on Ion.
