36th season of snl

Nope.

That would be Will Arnett ("Arrested Development", hubby of Amy Poehler).

I noticed Will Forte (MacGruber) was not part of the new season. Did he exit or was he asked to leave?

If "MacGruber" is gone, then the show might be worth watching again.

Aside from a few bright spots, we didn't find this episode to be very funny. For the most part it was a big swing and a miss.

Then again, I don't get Steven Colbert's appeal either.

Isn't it the SNL way? To take a cast member, toss him or her onto the big screen and wish em all the best in their new ventures?

I thought this was a thumb up. Lorne Michaels through a lot of star power out there, including having Governor Patterson there. Katy Perry doing the Bronx Beat was topical. The hair transplant was funny. I liked the Expendables movie sequels but could've used more characters. Was Keenan Thompson only on 1 or 2 sketches?

Have you heard Jimmy Fallon talk about his film experiences? He's quite self-deprecating about it (he doesn't think he was very good), and has made jokes about needing the Late Night gig to maintain his career.

What do you mean "we," Kimosabe?

I thought the season opener was decent. Plenty of cameos from past talent made it enjoyable. Not a lot of LOL moments, but funny enough to give it a B+ for this viewer. Question is, can they maintain? Last season had some excellent shows, but some bombs too.Seems consistency is SNL's biggest challenge. Wiig, though is always great!

1) I like Colbert. I think he is often funnier than Stewart and much better than SNL. Once the political opening is over, I turn it off. they don't even have the fake commercial after the opening.
