3WE jingles

Do you recall the PAMS series number and/or title of the package?

The original 1973 3WE package was a custom job done by PAMS, later syndicated as "Smilin' Through" (and much later syndicated again by KenR Inc. as "Your Radio."). It was not one of PAMS numbered series which were generally done for Top 40 stations.

All subsequent packages from 3WE's music days were done by TM. In 1977 they purchased "Listen To Your City" (with the somewhat ill-fitting "1100 Cle-eve-land, 3WE".... the number of syllables matched the origianal custom's "San Diego 76, KFMB")... but the accents and phrasing were off.). 3WE continued with other TM product with cuts from "One Of A Kind," "The Power," and perhaps a couple of others.

When they went talk in 1985, they also used TM's "Did You Hear The News" along with some custom instrumental host cuts (using the "Hey, did you get the word" lyric line and the full WWWE call letters and "Radio 11" as they were not calling themselves 3WE at that time. Following their sale to Embrescia/Wilson/Pollack in late '87 they dusted off some of the "Listen To Your City" cuts.

Following their sale to Booth in 1990, they used JAM's "We Talk New York" package (along with some custom instrumental and moog work) for a couple of years. The last jingles heard at 1100 were in 1997 following the call letter change to WTAM. This was a JAM composite package with cuts cherry-picked from "SkyTrax," "Metroline," and a couple of other syndicated packages. These cuts were only on the air for a few months. Following the sale to Jacor, corporate brass decided not to use jingles on WTAM... although once in a great while, you'll hear the "Mike Trivisonno" cut (to the tune of the "Hallelujah Chorus.")

Can you upload any of those jingles for me, SonoSational18?

SonoSational18 must be a TRUE jingle freak... or was he IN the jingle biz? Because I suspect his on-line identity is based on PAMS Series 18. That was the jingle package that introduced the sonovox effect.

I was amazed years later when I saw the "instrument" used in a Dallas jingle studio.
