4/1 Guess whats next on Big Country?

4/1 Big Country tossed in the towel and is now a simulcast with Guess FM.

Guess FM is now heard on the following:

830 WGUE and translator 99.3 W257CY
1180 WUMY and Translators 105.5 W288BJ / 100.1 W261CE

It also looks like Steve Conley is taking over afternoons at Guess FM.

When Y 105.5 tweaked the format and became Big Country, they lost me. They took out the 70s and early 80s songs that I liked and went too heavy with late 90s and early 00s. Not surprised at this, sadly. Back to Willie's Roadhouse on XM!

I didn't really understand that tweak either. The full Classic Country seemed to be doing well on such a small signal.

It was the first time, IIRC, that true Classic Country was on a FM signal in this market, and I believe there is a market for that if done properly, but it has to have that mix of 70s, 80s and only Early 90s to work. That other crap you can hear on KIX and the Rebel, oh, and the Wolf too.
