4-Alarm Fire Coverage

Some of the stations and websites seemed to be all over the big pallet fire in West Phoenix today...

Others didn't.

Channel 12 broke into programming for a 30 minute block at one point...i think around 3p.

I know the other stations covered the story with cut-ins until news time.

Was it worth breaking in for?

The online coverage was interesting too...

I saw 10, 12 and 15 had live streams during the afternoon...from the ground...and in some cases, air.

12 and 15 also had slideshows up pretty quick...

Not sure what happened at KPHO, though...they seemed to miss this story online until late in the game.

Since no homes are in danger (it's in the middle of an industrial park on the relatively-sparsely-populated southwest side of the city), I don't think it warrants wall-to-wall coverage outside of the normal newscast times. Maybe online coverage is OK, but breaking into regular programming isn't necessary in this case.

It would be different if this pallet warehouse was in the middle of a residential area, putting homes and more lives at risk. Fortunately, at least as of the last report I saw, nobody's been hurt or killed.

well over 100+ people lost their jobs, the lost of all those pallets and trailers, well the cost is gonna affect some of us if not most in the valley.each trailer goes for 50 grand and those pallets about over half a million.then theres all that cotton.yes thank GOD no one got hurt execpt that poor car.
