42 Year Station Vet Duke Hamilton To Retire From B105 Cincinnati

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/...duke-hamilton-to-retire-from-b105-cincinnati/

Duke Hamilton's last day is on July 2nd.

Hubbard Radio Country “B105” WUBE Cincinnati midday host Duke Hamilton will end his nearly 50 year radio career on Thursday, July 2.

Hamilton has been with WUBE since 1977 and has spent time in every daypart and previously served as Program Director and Music Director of the station. Hamilton began his career in 1970 at KPCR Bowling Green MO and has worked at AFRTS Radio in the Panama Canal Zone after being drafted into the army. He then worked at KKSS-FM St. Louis and KXLR Little Rock prior to coming to Cincinnati.

Duke will be missed. He is a Legend in the Country Radio and all of Radio business.

There will never be anyone like him. Congratulations and enjoy your retirement.

Not being overly cynical, but since Hubbard Radio has let so many people from their stations go over the last two months because of budget concerns, I wonder if it was his choice or if the company went to him and said, “For PR reasons, we are gonna let you retire rather than fire you.” ?

Regardless. Farewell to a legend. He was a gentleman when I met him.

Same thing I have wondered. If it ends up being that way that's a crappy move for a classy man.

He deserves to leave on his own terms. 42 1/2 years at the same station. I don't know of anyone in Cincinnati radio who has been at the same station and same format.

The Legend Duke Hamilton.
