46-3

Greetings!
Does anyone know anything about channel 46-3 in the Waco area. I recently bought a HDTV converter box, and went from 5 channels to 21! Most are just sub-channels for the regular affiliates in the area, but I am even
picking up channels from Dallas/Fort-Worth. This is The Pentagon Channel, and as stated in the topic is on
channel 46-3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Presumably this is a subchannel of KNCT channel 46, a PBS station out of Killeen. (is there a 46-2?)

To the best of my knowledge (and this is part of the reason why I asked him to list his subchannels), KNCT 46-1 does the 24/7 PBS-HD feed and 46-2 is an analog simulcast. I'm not certain of that though, and it may be old data.

HD Channels I receive:

KXAS-DT 5-1
KXAS-SD 5-2

KCEN DT 9-1
KCEN DT 9-2

KWTX-HD 10-1
KWTX-CW 10-2

KERA 13-1 (spotty at best)

KXXV-HD 25-1
Telemundo 25-2
25WXNOW - 25-3

KDAF-HD 33-1
LATV33-2

KWBU-HD 34-1
34-2(create)
34-3
34-4(V-ME)

KXTX 39-1

KWKT-DT 44-1

KNCT-HD 46-1
KNCT-SD 46-2

Pentagon(?) 46-3

So, it would be KNCT I am guessing? (I feel really stupid now:p)

Apparently. Some PBS stations are doing interesting things with their digitals. In addition to the obvious:

PBS-HD
PBS-X (alternate programming feed)
PBS Create
PBS World
V-Me

There's also other things some stations are doing:

Some air MHz World View, with all kinds of foreign newscasts and programming.
KET in Kentucky is doing datacasting.
KBDI in Denver and WNPT in Nashville air The Documentary Channel.
KWSU in Pullman WA and KAMU in College Station air The Research Channel.

And apparently now KNCT has The Pentagon Channel as well.

Out of curiosity, what is 9-2 doing?

9-2 (KCEN) is a NBC affiliate, used to be channel 6. And if I remember correctly held the honors at one point for having the highest tower for news broadcasting (IMHO, they have a crappy newscast) but anyways, it is a contstant weather conditions channel.

But what REALLY surprised me is how many channels from other areas I am picking up. Also, how it is clear... Either you get it, or you don't, there is no in between. I guess it has its advantages, but for the most part I think it is senseless to change a whole system just for the heck of it.
