46th ACM awards

I thought the show was great. My favorites were the Zac Brown/James Taylor performance and the Alabama performance at the beginning.
 
Here is what I said on another site:

I heard parts of one or more old Alabama songs from Brad Paisley but didn't see Alabama, so I just fast-forwarded because that mess was too loud.

My favorite thing was Reba and Blake Shelton bickering.

I was absolutely amazed to see someone give out ... can it be?... AN AWARD!

I had already forgotten that's what the show was about.

I was also flabbergasted by something else. When did Taylor Swift start performing country music? ???

I saw who it was and just kept fast-forwarding ... but wait. She was playing a banjo? I have to see that. It was actually good! And she could sing!

That was the only performance I saw in its entirety. Some, like Carrie Underwood, I knew to not even bother with, and when I saw what was singing with her I knew I had made the right choice.

I gave Rihanna a chance but needn't have bothered. It wasn't even a country song. By anyone's defintion.

Same for James Taylor and whoever he sang with. His part was good, but no point in staying around.
 
no thanks, i quit watchin most of these award shows in the 90's. plus nobody would put up with my constant agitation, and negative comments as i watch these rock/pop production shows aimed at the hip urban/city media masses. although, i would love to watch a current ACM, or CMA award show with george jones, or dale watson. it would be interesting to give a hear their comments, as i stifled mine.............
 
It was nice in the 70's with the likes of the Eagles,Marshall Tucker,Allman Bros,Lynyrd Skynyrd and other southern rock flavored tunes in the mix on radio.now its in the reverse mode with a overkill of rock flavored tunes with a handful of true country tunes.
