5 MORE YEARS OF NEIL ROGERS!!!!!!!!!

WQAM has signed Neil Rogers to a new 5-year contract, so he will be on the station til 2013. It was announced on the Joe Rose show this morning when they read a memo from GM Jolly Joe Bell announcing the great news.

Best thing QAM could have done. Congrats to Neil and to all of us listeners for 5 more years of great radio.

Hear! Hear! I'm in Joisey, and I used to rely on cassettes from a buddy of mine before this Internet stuff took off! I listen to the stream 2-3 times a week, more when I can! Neil GOD!

This is great news for WQAM, hopefully Neil and certainly Miami Radio listeners. However, I'm confused. I thought Neil was definitely leaving WQAM at the end of the year because he was tired of the Beasley's and Jolly Joe. What happened?

As a Goldwater Republican, I can say that Neil is the best talker on the planet, and I look forward to him trashing all the people that I will vote for for the next five years. He is lightyears ahead of Rush, Hannity, Savage, and his old protege, Randi Rhodes. If I want to hear a Joan Rivers wanabee, I'll go to the 163rd St. Mall and listen to the Yenta Olympics. In the meantime,
Go NEILGOD!

I thought someone around here said, he wouldn't go anywhere b/c no one was going to pay him what he wanted or even more than what the pay cut would be? Wonder who that was??? ::)

It's in both parties best interests that they stay together.

Does anyone know if Jorge Rodriguez will be continuing as producer/fill-in. I didn't use to like him (who are you going to like compared to Neil?) but he's grown on me the past few years. I hope he stays on the show.

Anybody else going to go see Uncle Neil at Gulfstream this weekend? I worked with him (at least in the same building!) years ago. He was, and still is, the best local talent I've ever heard. It will be good to see him again.
