50,000 Watt AM Stations on Regional Channels

As I mentioned on another thread KFBK's nightime skywave is sometimes so strong in places like Burbank that LA's 1540 is hard to tune in. Same for Oxnard's 1520 in Camarillo.
ive heard that 1540 up here, but always have to double check if its honolulu or LA... both of their 1540s are korean

I've said this before that although KMPC 1540 has very deep night time nulls with their 37 kW, all you have to do is go beyond 50 or 100 miles or so from their xmitter in almost any direction and you can them anywhere (with of course very strong constant fading).

they werevery much a regular before and at sunrise in laramie, WY for me.... :)
 
Has anyone measured the peak skywave levels of KFBK in the major lobes? Facilities similar to this, Directional 50000 watt arrays, in the Midwest, usually peak at around 10 mV/m at 150-300 miles away. There are array differences, but they all seem to peak close to that.

I wish i could, @Schroedingers Cat I've got to be square in the main lobe with KFBK so loud I can tell that Sacramento is a PPM market and KFBK is running voltair.
 
I wonder why the efficiency difference between the Day and Night patterns. Near half wave spacing with both nearly in phase would have less efficiency, and more horizontal field RMS loss with the 0.9 field ratio than the 0.42 field ratio. 12 percent RMS field reduction seems like a lot. Is there an efficiency resistor in the Night array?
