50kw Classic Country

I used to listen to a 10kw Classic Country Station, am1060 WKNG, out of Talapoosa in W. Ga. I just heard they are gearing up to go to a 50kw daytimer, it looks like the coverage area has been updated on Radio Locator. If this is true we will get a true Classic Country station in Atlanta, at least during the day. Has anyone else heard this rumor?

The CP for WKNG to go to 50KW was issued on January 4th, 2007.

They don't need to add any new towers, the 50KW will be non directional...

A new 50KW AM transmitter costs about $150,000......

Say Hello to a huge power bill for WKNG!
