50th anniversary of CKNX-TV 8

While it appears that it was not even mentioned on TV 8 (A-Channel), the North Huron Museum in Wingham, Ontario, held a celebration last night to mark the 50th anniversary of the first broadcast of Wingham's local television station. The information was posted on the community events section of the CKNX Radio website (and for those not in the know, while CKNX-TV and Radio are still in the same building, the stations are no longer affiliated).
______________
From WNBC-TV New York this is Liiiiive at Fiiiiive!

At least some people recognise CKNX's 50th anniversary -- even the radio station that is only associated with them historically, while the station itself practically said, "Anniversary? What anniversary?"

It seems that once you become tightly bound with another station, as part of a huge corporate structure, all the history's gone out the window.
