540 AM

I Saw a 1950 Broadcasting Yearbook and the AM Frequencys Started at 550. When was 540 added? what was the 1st US Station on 540? Why was 540 added?

I think the US worked out an agreement with Canada to open up 540. They still had to protect the border. WCNG went on the air on Thanksgiving Day in 1957 with 250 watts. Also remember that the AM band used to end at 1500. I think the next 10 KCs were added in 1941 or whenever the big shift took place.

By the way, I haven't forgotten our lunch date. Things are beginning to slow down at the station. I'll try to call you this week.

Like gee dudes, whenever I like come to Da Burg nobody invites me to like lunch. Bummer ??? ???

Eat and Park is a senior discount. I like the one in Edgewood. When I was in high school (Allderdice class of 62)-----------we called it "Eat in your car, barf in your car". I know-------not funny except back then it was only a take out like an old school DQ. Waitresses took your order and brought the food out on a try. We went to the one on Washington Blvd. by the car wash and the boys had pompadors or crew cuts and madrass shirts. I preferred the former! I could accept the latter if he was a DJ. I liked the romeos from north of Penn Ave. or Greenfield. But those days are gone. Going to physical therapy and will rock out on WDUV in Tampa.
