540 WFLF DID NOT ID THEMSELVES

While listening to the Florida Gators pre and post game shows Saturday on 540, at 12 noon and at 5pm Mick Hubert did the "now we pause 10 seconds for station identification on the Florida Gators radio network" ... followed by dead air. Now that IMG runs the network, is in not still technically handled by Clear Channel? Guess I assumed "Gator Control" was in Orlando since Tom Morgan is the "captain" and the one at the helm could handle that task.

That's incredible. Probably the first time in radio history that a board op has missed a break.

Really? You're all worked up over this for what reason? Are you the old board op?

I was under the assumption the production of the game broadcast was out of Orlando [i.e. Tom Morgan at Gator Control], and hence they'd have somebody monitoring the game. It was a holiday, maybe 540 was fully automated and missed the cue to ID.

The network probably failed to send the tone that fires off the local 10 second audio track. So actually it could be the Gator Network's fault. And just to clarify, just because the network may be based or distributed from the same offices as AM 540 does not mean they have any authority or operations control of WFLF.

Somebody monitoring the game? HA HA HA.... it's 2011. Good one!

Quck, somebody call the FCC. Board op fell asleep listening to the Gators losing again.... ;D
