555 debounce circuit - sinking?

I'm trying to use a 555 circuit to debounce a console switch to start a CD player with a combined play/pause button. The 555 circuit has to sink the current to ground. If I connect the switch between pin 4 and ground, closing the switch causes pin 3 to go low. My question is, how do I control the length of time that pin 3 goes low? It needs to be a consistent 50 ms or so, otherwise the CD player behaves unpredictably.

If there's no way to do this, I'll have to use the 555 in sourcing mode to trigger a solid-state relay.
