55KRC dumps Glenn Beck?

Yesterday, I heard someone from Fox News on when Glenn Beck normally is on. Did they just do that this week while Glenn's out, or is this a permanent thing?

One can hope. That would be the best decision 55krc has ever made to dump Glenn Beck in favor of Tony Snow. The best one since they dumped Pat Berry.

I Believe this is only during Beck's Vacation because Bill Cunningham is one of the Fill In Hosts for Beck. They dont want to have Bill doing two shows on two different CIncy Stations

Beck's days with Premiere must be numbered. A number of Clear Channel stations, including WGST/Atlanta, have dumped him over extremely poor ratings.

Yeah, I heard he is not even doing that well in his former home market of Tampa. That can't be good for me. But he is back on 55KRC, which amazes me.

What would this matter? 550 and 700 are sister stations; not like they're competitors. 700 and 1530 share/simulcast programming frequently.

I'm wondering why a 5 year old thread was bumped?

Because Uncas was trying to make a funny remark, and replied to an old thread, from July of 2005. but in this over serious radio info world seems to have been lost on many who post here.

by the way Uncas, it made me laugh. so at least there was 1

So, in the TV world, he is second only to Oprah and on radio, he is faltering?

Keep in mind this was said in 2005, before Beck's TV career took off. I think his TV success has helped his radio career a lot, I mean Radio-Info now has its own Glenn Beck smiley: :'(

;D

Other than Glenn often uses the "how did that work out" rejoinder I fail to see any humor in Uncas' comment. However WKRC would probably never think about bumping Beck, he is the sanest voice on their lineup, at least among the syndicated fare that dominates them and most CC stations. Beck was not on locally back when I was in LA (he had been on KGIL before they flipped) and now here in Iowa he is nowhere to be found either and 55KRC has him live so I stream from there. I would use WTVN but their stream never seems to work for me.

Thank you sir.

I recently found this place and really enjoy the comments of the pros here. I've been reading old posts simply because the business fascinates me. I am not in the business and never will be but I am curious about it all. Just a long time listener.

I've really learned a lot thus far and hope no one takes offense.

Yeah, we need a good American, level headed, a real role model, maybe like Jerry Springer. Oh, that's right, they tried that before. No takers. Sad. Us liberals are SO much smarter than the rest of you.

An interesting point, why do conservative talkers do better, especially the Limbaughs and Hannitys? Springer wasn't that interesting on radio and unless he attempted a kind of clone of his TV schtick with a little Howard Stern mixed in, not likely to be.

Perhaps attempting to educate the masses is a futile attempt, all that the great hordes seem to enjoy is like Wrestling, a lot of noise and action but no substance.

As a conservative, I would say we are more engaged in the issues.

I would also say that there is more to talk about because the liberal swing has been in place for so long that it reaches all aspects of life with no sign of slowing down.

As long as some radio people choose to portray conservatives as knuckledragging cavemen or evangelical control freaks, they will continue to misunderstand what is happening.
