560 WGAN Portland Changing Its Translator

For a number of years, WGAN has been using a translator on 105.5 MHz, W288CU. That translator is still in use but its days may be numbered. Promos now say "WGAN, now at 98.5 FM and also on AM 560." W253DA 98.5 is rebroadcasting WGAN's talk programming in addition to 105.5.

I wonder why WGAN is making this switch and what 105.5 will be used for in the future. According to Radio-Locator.com, 105.1 in Saco is also a translator for Saga Broadcasting, the parent company.

Outlaw is an interesting classic country format that Saga is using on several of its stations, including WPZQ, the former WFAT in Athol, Mass. It mixes in tracks that are more alt-country than mainstream Nashville hits and plays music from the early days right up through the early 2000s. It's definitely classic country with an attitude and I enjoy listening to it on my regular trips up and down I-91.
 
OK, Saga made at least three translator changes this fall...

1. WGAN moves from 105.1 to a new translator at 98.5. I see from Radio-Locator that 98.5 is 250 watts, 105.5 is 200 watts. Both are 292 feet high, so I assume both are on the same tower.

2. WZAN switches from ESPN Radio to Outlaw Country. That also changes the translator at 101.5, which is 99 watts at 292 feet. There is a website for WZAN, but no playlist or Listen Live option. https://theoutlawportland.com/

3. The 105.5 translator switches to a simulcast of WYNZ-HD2, which is Pure Oldies. I assume that means older than WYNZ's Classic Hits. There is a website for Pure Oldies 105.5 but no playlist or Listen Live option. https://pureoldies1055.com/

4. So did the Saco translator at 105.1 stay with WGAN programming or switch to Pure Oldies? Neither website mentions the 105.1 translator. It is only 19 watts but at 341 feet in height above average terrain.

WZAN's switch means Portland has no ESPN Radio affiliate. WJAB 96.3 and its AM simulcast 1440 WRED are Fox Sports affiliates. And the two WEEI-FM stations, 95.5 WPPI Topsham and 95.9 WPEI Saco, as their Boston originating station, are CBS Sports affiliates I assume. WEEI-FM and its satellite stations around New England only use network programming overnight.

Saga's Pure Oldies is limited to '50s and '60s hits.

I'm pretty sure 105.1 in Saco is Bible Broadcasting Network.I don't think it ever was WGAN. Right now Radio Locator says it's WMGX.
In Portland am 870 WLVP has an construction permit for 105.1.The Saco 105.1 can be picked up in Portland.

as im pretty sure i brought up before when you brought up this same question....... WMGX has HD Radio and thats how this is fed. IT very well could've been WGAN at one point, fed by WMGX HD2... but its lsited as being fed by WMGX HD3, which is BBN
