Currently the OLD site (from 1946) ON with programming, while the NEW site's also on with no audio & low power. About a 1 Hz difference in frequency so every second they cancel.
I recently learned that KSFO and KFRC used to diplex! How was that possible?I've built diplexed systems. The closest I got was one at 570 kHz and the other at 805 kHz. It was easy to tune the ATU for each quite broadly and to have similarly broad rejection networks. I don't think I could have done one that is 90 kHz apart without a lot of computer assistance.
Even then, we wound our own coils, but were subject to standard values on vacuum capacitors. It was less than the precision the Boise stations need!
