590 AM

Did I miss something? How long has 590 AM been simulcasting MAGIC 100.9? I can get 590 AM on my car radio in some parts of Bristol, Connecticut on a regular basis. I knew they were a talk station so I was surprised when I heard Oldies Music on 590 AM just before 11 AM this morning, so I stuck around for the station ID. The station ID'd as "Magic 100.9 WKLI Albany-Schenectady". Then they went into a network newscast.

Another failed 590? Perhaps this one and WARM in Scranton should just both go dark and let Salem's preaching station in Boston expand its coverage area to the interference contour of CJCL.

That's more interesting. That means, no more WROW and no more "Mike & the Mad Dog" show. We should applaud WGY and "Talk 1300" for these two talk stations. WROW after many decades has finally pulled the plug. No that "Magic 100.9" is now on 590, they're running a CBS-FM type format with the liners by Ziggy and some jingles from the "Do It Again" package from JAM. The station is more CBS-FM like than any other station. Forget WBPM, go to 590 AM to try it out. 590 has a good signal in Kingston and Saugerties. You should try it, and not to mess around with WBPM anymore.

The "Mike & The Mad Dog" simulcast on WROW from WFAN NYC ended in November 2007 when they were replaced by Mark Williams.

Anybody know exactly what time 590 made the switch to a simulcast of 100.9? Per the first post in this thread, the switch happened before 11 AM. And from comments I read by newspaper bloggers, it happened right in the middle of Glenn Beck's show. So I'm guessing, 10 AM? Is that when Magic's morning show ends?

Wouldn't it be ironic if the first song played after the simulcast started was Cliff Richard's "We Don't Talk Anymore"? ;D
