5kw. Collins FM Xmtr. Available.

5kw. Collins 830E/1A. Clean, well maintained and fully functional.

I need to move this item as I do NOT want to have to find another storage location for it. If I take it to another location, it will remain with the company so, if anyone needs a good backup (or main, in this case), NOW is the time to ask.

The Collins 830 Series 10KW was the first FM transmitter I ever worked on in Jacksonville Florida back around 1970 or so, it was one the best built, finest designed transmitters ever built....like most anything Collins built. Would have no doubts about buying one if I needed a 5 KW on the cheap....I'm sure Continental will do there best to support it.

One unpleasent task comes to mind......changing the final tube socket.....

The 820s were built by the Rocketship Radio company out in Richardson, weren't they? And some by Collins. The rocketship versions had the absolutely best build quality of anyone's electronics for broadcast RF. Rockwell was/is a mil spec shop, so they just built the Collins stuff to mil spec as well. They were lovely. I last messed with one at the Big Blow Job (KBBJ, Tulsa) many years ago. It was a hoss of the first order.
