6/12/09 TV DX

I was flipping through the analog side of my DTV a few minutes ago and caught a pretty good signal skip coming from Georgia and South Florida.

Here's what I found from just outside Lafayette, Indiana between 10:45am and 11:15am...

2-WESH Orlando (with a DTV switch message for WKCF/WESH viewers)--going in and out with WPBT

2-WPBT Miami (showing Clifford and IDing as KiD Vision)--coming in as a local for about 10 minutes

3- WSAV Savannah, GA (showing a retro ID slide with a woman voicing information about the DTV switch)--picture is clear, but the audio mixes with an unidentifiable station.

4-WFOR Miami (showing Guiding Light, then the Price is Right) comes in clearly in waves. WFOR is predominant over semi-local WTTV, which is showing nightlight programming.

6-WTVJ Miami (showing a local news & entertaiment program)

I live in Monroeville, AL. I've got an old, black & white TG&Y set from the 1980s(?) set up on my front porch with an RCA indoor antenna. I picked up WLNS-TV 6 in Lansing, Michigan while it was airing The Young and the Restless. Amazing.

30 miles south of Indy, I saw WESH 2, Orlando, WSAV 3, Savannah (my semi local WAVE 3 has already shut down) & WINK 5, Ft Myers. I hear that Texas is coming in on channel 6 in the Muncie,IN area.

WINK is on 11, not 5.

Today should be an awesome final analog TV DX day!

caught a spanish channel 2 come in today. vid was very bad audio was just a little better (enough to make out it was spanish) mexican tv maybe?

There's still Canadian analogue tv on air as well. No one has shut off anything up here yet. So you can still DX with an analogue tv, as long as you don't mind trying for Mexico, Canada, or even further!

Picked up mainly digital.
KXXV-DT 25
KWBU-DT 34
City: Decatur/Dallas
Antenna: Radioshack VU-90
Converter Box: RCA DTA800B1
Tropo DX

I saw that! I see that you picked up WNEM Ch. 5 Bay City, MI, with a nightlight slide, and WJBK Ch. 2 with the NAB video. WLNS Ch. 6 was also seen on your video with news.
