6/22 opening

I live in Oklahoma City and have heard many stations from Mexico, along with KSZR in Tuscon, KQVO in Calexico CA, KVEG in Las Vegas - to name a few. My TV is picking up something very weak at times on analog channel 4, on rabbit ears.

Oh man, did you try to catch digital ch 2 KSNV (mapped as 3) in Vegas??? Hope you have a good OTA TV for that antenna....

I had unexpected luck here in Lake Geneva, WI this afternoon.

I got 94.9 KQUR Laredo, TX "The Works" with the progressive rock format, local ads & upcoming area events. This is a distance record for me, at about 1,212 miles.

I had an unID on 99.3 that had ads from Laredo & oldies/classic rock.

I wish I understood Spanish. I also had unIDs on 89.1, 91.3, 100.5 & 101.5 that, if they follow the opening area, may be from Mexico, since I heard them all within about a half-hour around 4:15 - 4:45pm CDT.

Was the 89.1 called "La Lupe"? That would be XHCAO Reynosa.
There is indeed a 91.3 in Nuevo Laredo, XHNOE.

Thank you, cd. Yes, that was "La Lupe". I don't know Spanish, so it's very difficult to pick out tag lines/slogans.

I highly recommend this site, which will help a lot in ID'ing stations from Mexico:

I got XEW-TV from Mexico City on channel 2 yesterday here in Plano, Texas. Several others on 3, 4, 5 and 6 as well.. but never could figure out where they were from. Kind of weird seeing the old analog hash and roll on my big HD set. :)

I also got a couple of nice tropo catches from around the region. KWTX in Waco - which you would think I'd get a lot, but I've never seen until last night. KAKW from Austin was solid for several hours. Also got KSLA from Shreveport for a while and KXXV in Waco was solid all night long.

I'm hampered by the fact my antenna is in a fixed position aimed at Cedar Hill. (my wife was okay with me putting the gigantic antenna on the roof of the house to get great HD pictures, but a rotater would have been too much for her)
