6-8 WHAS Host named

Mary Walter is already employed by Iheart. I Reallly wanted Joe back, but figured this would happen, they could save on another paycheck while just beaming this radio transmission in from another location. Cheap Cheap Cheap. Kelly Carls strikes again.

It's really shameful how Iheart has cheapened WHAS over the years with syndicated programming and out of town talent pretending they are broadcasting from Louisville when they are not. I remener when WHAS was full service and local like WLW still is in Cincinnati. Who knows how much longer Iheart will let WLW stay that way.

I was surprised by the WKRD additions announced today. I'll be glad to hear some local programming returning to that station.

Very true. Anytime something big happened, you would just automatically tune to 84 WHAS. The best news and weather hands down back then. The news is now just two minute clips, and the WAVE 3 weather team isn't as good as they were in years past either.

These days with iHeart, it is all about the spot load. The news is shorter so they can play more spots. They play spots out of the weather before they give you the temperature and then play spots before going back into the show. They have a lot of debt they need to payoff so they have to play a lot of spots.

I remember when Mandy was doing 6 to 8. she could barely get her thoughts together, talk to one listener then have to go to a break.. They had her loaded up. I never ran a stop watch on her hour, but I bet that time slot had over 20 minutes of spots or more.

That is about right, I would listen to a podcast of her show, and the days it was an hour due to a coaches show it was about 23 minutes.

No she isn't already employed by iHeart. She was a contractor like I'm sure Joe Elliott is right now with WHAS.

I understood she was already employed by IHeart, if not, what advantage is this to hire her over Local? I know it seems as if they are doing this the purposely annoy everyone but really?
