Longtime "60 Minutes" host/correspondent Mike Wallace, who has been with the top-rated CBS newsmagazine series since it's premiere in 1968, is retiring.
At this writing (1:40 P.M. March 14th), there are few details, and I have not seen anything on the 'Net regarding when he will step down. My guess is it will be in May at the end of the television season.
This is an article on Broadcasting and Cable.com (registration may be required) reporting Wallace's retirement.
I believe Wallace is in his mid-to-late eighties; I thought he might have continued through 2008 so he could have had forty full years on the show.
