Today, May 15, 2008 marks 60 years of FM radio in Southwestern Ontario. It was on this day that CFPL-FM signed on, simulcasting CFPL-AM. Over the years CFPL-FM has aired opera, fine music, classical music, CBC FM network programming including "Ideas", documentaries, overnight programming produced by UWO students that later evolved into today's CHRW, jazz, country, and for the past 29 years, rock. Murray Brown may be one of the only people involved in launching the station who is still around today.
