60s on 6 moving to channel 73, changing name to 60s Gold.

Everyone has seemed to ignore the fact that "Caliente" is moving from Channel 158 to Channel 151, placing two Latin music channels and one Latin talk channel all in a row.
Regarding the 60's Channel move-one of the Phlash Phelps Facebook pages has been blowing up with negative reactions the past two days.

It appears they're grouping the "nostalgia" channels together. What I find myself doing is switching from station to station to find the songs I want to hear. If a dud comes up, I just punch next, and it's usually another channel in that same mode. Perhaps that's what's happening here. Although, yes they are breaking up the decades stations. Lee Abrams won't be happy.

I listen a lot on my laptop which doesn't let me group favorite channels together so I can find them easily. In the car, oh well pushbutton #1 will become #73 not 6, unless they make changes to 70s and 80s, they'll stay in the same spot on my presets. Then its my wife's Garth and Y2K country, then my Soul Town in the first bank.

In addition to the 60s, Sinatra, 40s on 4, 50s on 5, and 70s on 7 will move and all be grouped together.
Here's the new lineup. Channel Lineup Change | SiriusXM

I am sorry to see Sirius XM Love Channel 70 will be moved to internet only. This was the channel that played Soft AC and Soft Oldies: Carole King, James Taylor, Whitney Houston, Cat Stevens, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, Air Supply, etc.

I'm surprised some channels such as Escape (Beautiful Music) and All 1940s will survive. You'd think they'd be on the internet only classification before a Soft AC outlet. There are other soft music channels I enjoy, such as The Bridge (soft rock) and Yacht Rock (mid-tempo 70s and 80s hits). I have an unlimited streaming plan with my phone, so I can pull up the Sirius XM app on my phone and play Love on my car radio that way. But it will take an extra effort.

What's Abrams been doing since his Chicago newspaper debacle?

The 70-79 channel range is largely targeted toward 55+, with the '40s through '60s, standards, Elvis, classical, etc. ... but toward the end you have Kids Place and the paid-for Kidz Bop channel.

Sad to see the breakup of the Decades channels. That was always something that XM did better than Sirius back in the day when they were separate services. Moving to the 70 channel range is the last step before being removed from the satellites like Love. I wonder if the new station will start playing early 70’s hits now that they are changing to “60’s Gold?” The 50’s on 5 has been doing that forever with early 60’s hits.

I don't think so. The thinking with the '50s and '60s channels was always that the early part of the decade clashed with the later part due to a major change in popular music mid-decade. In the '50s, it was rock 'n' roll itself. In the '60s, it was the British Invasion. The '70s had disco, but the genre was more fad than significant change and was basically dead within five years. I would think '70s music will remain exclusive to that decade's channel, and 60s Gold will remain essentially 1964-1969 hits, with the exception of the occasional countdowns of earlier years' songs.
