With the same type of curiousity one would have upon appearing at the scene of a multiple car accident, I tuned into WDAE just after midnight to see if FSR finally had the good sense to once and for all rid the radio world of Tony Bruno. (He'd been on suspension for making the latest in a career of tasteless remarks, this one revolving around an Hispanic Major League Baseball player..and mind you...it, like most of what eminates from his trap, simply wasnt even a funny insult)
The Animal was airing Oakland Raider pre season football versus Arizona, using the Raiders Radio Network.
Now while NFL preseason football is painful to watch as it brings to the end the career of many semi talented young men who will (gasp) have to actually adjust to trying to work for a living, instead of being payed millions in the game of football, it was refreshing to hear an actual play by play event in place of the dreck that was Tony Bruno.
Thanks, Animal. Feel free to plug in the BC Lions from the CFL or even Austrailian Rules Football. Seriously, its better than Bruno.
OT, speaking of different, I noticed Thursdays Rays/Royals nooner, played before several dozen or so somewhat interested fans at the Trop was not on over the air or cable tv...
Actually..it was. MLB Network TV via MLB.com had the video feed to Missouri and Florida, using the Rays Radio announcing team, including the Rays AAA announcer who got a dose of regional cable exposure today.
an interesting Thursday in Tampa Bay sports media.
