1190 last year.
not that there's anything wrong with dennis, dave & dave.. they're the best in town and belong on ktar (in-house). ..but they shouldn't be on ktar with a different name than they use on all the other stations.
at the bottom of the hour, i'll be dialing through the channels and will hear the same guy giving the same report at the same time, on multiple frequencies. ..this is phoenix, right ? ..fifth largest city, the largest capital city in the us ?? ..i'd expect this on the show-low stations, but not phoenix.
when phoenix gets an 'all-traffic, all-the-time' station, will all the other stations continue with their traffic report snippits ?
there should be an 'all traffic & weather' station.
there should be an 'all information station for arizona lifestyle & events'
there should be an 'all news, all the time' station for phoenix.
in the years to come, there should be a few available frequencies for the above formats; after all these cross-over music stations die off, because nobody wants to evolve music programming to this millennium. .."it's not familiar". .."we want to dumb-down america". .."keep it the same, same, same".
elvis & the beetles weren't "familiar". ..how the heck did they make it to the airwaves? ..i guess radio was different back then.?? ..programmers took risks to "brake the format".
