Find WDAE has become my personal station of choice. Really impressed with the morning show. Very listenable and informative. For a couple of newspaper guys they seem to get it. Ron and Ian are, well, Ron and Ian. Couple guys who say their mind and have some fun too. Not into the Rome style, however, that's my taste. Duemig has been my favorite for a long time. His opening monologue always is a good listen. Carney does an excellent news read. Tom K filling in for Duemig this week has great pipes. He also lets each caller say their piece without any interruption or "uh huhs". Have to question the use of "hideous" show and "punks" in Pinellas. Apparently this is some of the guy's trademarks, however, having never heard of him or heard him before it made no sense to me and sounds offensive. Doesn't make sense either. Don't find anything hideous. The Rays coverage is outstanding. Find myself listening to the radio broadcasts. Wills and Freed are really good. Solanz is a super upgrade on the pre and post game coverage.

Was alot better in the early 2000's when they had Chris Thomas, Tony Bruno and Sandy Penner still there as well as some of their better off-air staff.

Ron and Ian are ok and Duemig is still good, but it's not as good

I would have to agree with Sandy Penner and Chris Thomas.

But life rolls on...

And, they will have to step up the pace in advance of 98.7.

I like T-Kras as a fill-in host. I used to love it when he filled in on 1010 and wish he had gotten their 12-3 slot instead of "The Commish." I think the whole "hideous" thing is kind of amusing, his way of keeping his ego in check I guess. Trademark or not, it may be time for him to drop the punks and hideous though, either that or 620 listeners just have to grow into it. It's a completely different audience it seems with 620. I wonder if T-Kras blocks Bobby Fenton from getting air time there. I know that's his dream and he does whatever they ask just to pay his dues for some air time. But T-Kras seems to have more poise, better at interviewing, and more well rounded knowledge.
I hope CBS's FM sports station isn't just the 1010 talent. They need a real morning show and a much better 12-3 slot. I think JP is a legit afternoon drive, he's very knowledgeable and has been in the market a long time. I think his show will need some adjusting, but he's good enough for bigger station, in my opinion.

It won't be.
Then, just as we suspected, they didn't care for the 1010 50kw AM in the first place.

Since being let go from 1040 and landing at 620, in at least some capacity, Tom Krasnicki and Ronnie Lane are in rare company: They have completed the "Tampa Sports Radio Trifecta"...

620

Rare company

Does anyone have 910 on the resume to complete the "Grand Slam"?

The proper question would be: Is there anybody who worked there but didn't put it on the resume?

Disagree on Bobby Fenton. I do like Krasniqi, but I think Fenton is even better, and he has done a great job ever since being on 1010 a few years ago. His shows always seem to flow for me. They're fun and have good energy. I do think that he's blocked over at 620. He should have gotten the morning show, imo.

Either way, there are enough time slots in this market and lesser hosts already on the air that it's a crime that either of them has to scratch and claw for air time. If the new FM station doesn't have either Fenton or Kraz (or both) on the air as part of the new lineup it'd be a big missed opportunity on their part. If it's at the expense of some of the names being mentioned so far, then it's a double fail.

Very doubtful that either one is on the new station. My understanding is there will be a lot of local talent, but somehow some of the best talent won't be on for the new CBS station.
