640 GST's David Hull rules!!

Okay I admit it. I listen to Rush but lately I've been listening to GST more to hear David Hull put his own personal touch on the news. This guy rules!<P ID="signature">______________

David Hull is one of the best in the business. He has worked over the years at the original "Georgia Network," CNN Radio and now with WGST and the Georgia News Network. In addition, he is one of the nicest guys I know.

> I too have noticed a change in the way the news is now delivered now at GST. In the afternoons, Jennifer Perry is now bantering back and forth a bit with the Kimmer. Denny Shaffer siad this morning that he's getting his own news person starting Monday, and then as mentioned, David Hull putting his own spin on the news during Rush's show. I think these are the changes GST were talking about when they canned most of the news department. Wasn't Kari Dean doing the same kind of thing with "The King" in the morning? Also, how can GST even pretend to compete in the news dept. with WSB when they only have 1 beat reporter (Wendy Grossman)? I'm hearing the same reports in the aftrenoon from her that I hear in the morning.
One more thing, where's Margo Johnson, who in my opinion is one of the most proffesional and pleasant traffic reporters on the radio in Atlanta. Someone named Lacey McGlauglin has been doing traffic mid-days now. She's ok, but sounds like she's about 16 years old.

They can't.

Denny Shaffer is getting his own news person?? This has to be the most expensive one-share in radio history. Meanwhile, Glenn Beck now has the number three talk show in the nation.

Nicest guys? He was the biggest prima donna when he worked at CNN radio and lost his job there after the last of many emotional explosions.

He may sound great on the air, but he was a cancer in that newsroom.

Margo is currently 9 months pregnant, and, if she hasn't done so already, will have her baby very soon. She is on maternity leave until April.

Whatever David Hull's personality is - I don't think a competent and professional news staff should "comment" or "spin" the news - leave the commentary for Kimmer/Rush/Boortz/Hannity. That's what they are paid for!!

News should be only that - news...just the fact's, Ma'am. Otherwise, you run the risk of self important anchors thinking they can direct the views of the "proletariat" because the stupid morons in the the fly-over states can't be trusted to go to the polls and vote the right way.

Kimmer's show has degenerated since the recent change in news delivery. I don't care to hear Kimmer interrupting the news delivery to ask Jennifer a personal question or her take on a news story. She's there to deliver the news - he's there to comment and draw contoversey so people will listen and call. Don't mix the two jobs!!!

my 2 cents worth...you are welcome to yours...

They're lucky to have the one. WFLF Orlando and WSRQ Sarasota, also CC N/Ters, have 0 beat reporters IIRC.

"Guys, I know I'm new here, but unlike the previous 12 Program Directors you had here in the last decade, when *I* tinker with the shows, it's BRILLIANT. Now someone hand me the Turd Polish and let's get to work."

Judging by the Fall Book, you guys here on this board are the last 3 people still listening to GravesRadio GST.
