650 kHz in the midwest?

I live in the St. Louis area, and last night (the 6th), I was dialing around 650 kHz. Normally WSM sits like a stone on 650, but instead I heard another station briefly override them. I wasn't around long enough to catch an ID or a location, but it was in English, and sounded like a commercial station. It sounds like the band has opened up, and wonder if anyone else knows who might have enough power (along with the favorable conditions) to cut into WSM.
