I just mentioned this on another thread, but maybe there's a grain of truth to it here as well. Though Charles Foster Kane was a fictional character, I've known one or two people like him in my life. If someone has made a big pot of money doing something else, and wants a hobby, running a little radio station could be as much fun as any other expensive hobby. We've all heard of billionaires who'll spend a could hundred-grand for fun. I've always wished I was in a position to do that myself.

Does anyone know who took over 660? Is it some rich guy indulging himself in an expensive hobby?
 
Alex Langer ("National Radio Network") has had 660 for a good while now, no? As far as I know, he still does, and that new website even lists him as an outdoors host...

I've never met the man. Could he be described as rich enough to run a radio station as a hobby?

Well, he does run that National Radio Network operation. I don't get the idea that NRN is all that big a player ("fifth-tier" may be too kind a description), but he's probably got some bucks to rub together. He's based in New England, I believe.
