680 The Fan Loading up for Braves

I

I Know it

Guest
With former pitching coach Leo Mazzone already on board at the station, 680 The Fan has also added fan favorite Mark Lemke to the broadcast, Future Hall of Famer Tom Glavine to the Pre Game show, and former WSB Sports Anchor Chuck Dowdle to the post game show. Big names but I wonder how the product will sound?

Questions:

Will 790 the Zone even attempt to combat these moves with any baseball programming and attempt to get the sales staff to pitch whatever 790 puts on? Chris Dimino will not be enough in the morning alone.

Can The Fan make money in the long term as the Braves have bounced from station to station the past decade?

Dependingon how much the rights cost they could make money. They are obviously building upo the pre and post game shows so they can maximize the revenue. I assume Dimino will still do Hardball to go after their pre-game show when the Braves are in town.

Atlanta loves the Braves when they are winning and forgets about the team or loves the teams in their original hometowns when the Braves are losing and lately, they have lost the players fans love the most and haven't made a playoff appearance in a long time. This is not Boston or New York. They need to bring the excitement on the field back before we can seriously talk about generating revenue.
