I've noticed that also. I was listening to the Reds game last night in my car as the XM feed was the Pirates feed and I don't want to hear them. It actually was loud and clear with no fading or buzzing.

The intermittent buzz is gone, and they're modulating at higher percentages now. But there is an automation problem in the overnight daypart, with stretches of dead air-should be an easy fix.

Have you all noticed the deterioration of the WHBE signal quality, particularly at night? Here in the Tyler Park area, the nighttime audio just barely overcomes the skywave scattering from other stations...and sometimes it loses that battle.

Their nighttime signal used to be very clear
up into Sellersburg, IN...quite a dropoff lately. I appreciate WHBE's investment in Dial Global pro sports, but it's such a chore to try and follow the play-by-play with the shaky signal.

Daytime is not as clear nor as well modulated as it once was, either. They need to re-evaluate their entire audio and RF systems to bring the signal back. With two sports competitors and PPM testing going on in the market, every listener counts!

Totally agree. Does anyone know if they have a local engineer?

Last night I noticed that 680 was off the air. Not good with all the NBA Christmas Day games being played. Still off this morning but the carrier sounds like it's on. I wish 680 would fix things so they would stay fixed!

It sounds like WHBE has restored their phasor and transmitter to licensed pattern and TPO. The nighttime pattern at my location (Baxter Ave., Eastern Pkwy.) delivers more groundwave and is no longer fighting it out with the skywave scatter. Not as strong as it once was, but once again a listenable signal.

The station still needs to go front-to-back through their audio and RF systems to correct whatever problems remain.
