7.12.12 93.3 WMMR

I am not an expert on dxing, so can someone tell me what was happening this morning?

Location:Central Montgomery County PA
93.3 WMMR was being over taken by a country station.
Add'ly 93.1 a country station was coming in very clear. this station was not the one taking over 93.3

thanks in advance!

It was a major tropo event, here in Central Jersey Philadelphia FM's which are normally strong were being wiped out by Washington DC stations, 90.1, 88.5, 100.3, 98.7, 90.9 were Washington, not Philadelphia. Fun stuff, love it!

Same event was bringing Boston and Providence onto the central Connecticut FM dial at levels strong enough to interfere with the locals and dominate the fringe signals.

93.1 might have been WPOC in Baltimore. Not sure about the 93.3, WFLS-VA?

Did you hear any IDs, and/or names of places?

I'm pretty sure you heard WFLS in Fredericksburg, VA over Philly's WMMR.

Yes I'm almost totally sure it was WFLS as I had 101.5 from Fredrecksburg over NJ1015 in West Central Jersey. Also heard "WNEW" over WAWZ Zarephath. Fun to hear WNEW again after hearing it on 102.7 from New York. Of course the new WNEW 99.1 has nothing to do with the old WNEW. Well same owners, hi!

Thank you all for your responses.....much appreciated!

I didn't get the 93.3 station's ID--only heard a small part of their morning show and some country music.

ironically used to listen to Y-100 WPLY 100.3 Media/philadelphia and get NYC Z100 (100.3) at certain places in my travels. The irony being I was listening to the same morning show (Preston and Steve).

thanks again!
