700 AM in Calgary re-licensed after construction permit expires

Touch Canada Broadcasting received approval today for a new Christian station on 700 AM in Calgary. The new station will operate with 50,000 watts (days) and 20,000 watts (nights).

This application was originally approved in 2009, however ongoing issues of trying to secure a transmitter site due to public opposition resulted in the expiry of the construction permit. A new transmitter site has now been selected which meets the approval of all parties concerned.
