70's 80's format are younger demos listening?

The 70s & 80s bring the adults who grew up then and their children who find the music fun. That is, when it isn't the same 200 songs over and over and over...

Shocking isn't it?? The amount of 80's music absent today from radio is utter garbage. Who wants to hear "Boys of Summer" 5 times a week?? What about 1981's "Don't Stop the Music", "Shaddap You Face" and "Double Dutch Bus"?

How about "Morning Train", "Queen of Hearts" or "Angel of the Morning"?..... the lists are endless!

there IS ONE thing that MAY get them interested and hooked: PERSONALITY RADIO, something they're not familiar with. Live, Local, one-to-one broadcasting with facts and background and requests.

Bravo. You mean "real" radio, like it used to be done. Interactive radio before Social Media existed.

While we're at it, how about Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out or Space Monkey - Only The Night. The lists are endless, lots to choose from.

Just my 2 cents. One thing the 80s music has that the previous generations did not have was amazing production values. Listen to CD's like Talk Talk "It's my life" or "Brothers in arms" from Dire Straits. They still sound incredible today. I have received a few emails for my online project that is a recreation/tribute to The Mighty 690 in San Diego/LA and some young people embrace the 80s stuff.
