70s on 7 channel sound quality went into the bowl!

Recently I noticed some of the channels sounding alot better ,so I rushed to try my favorite channel 7 ,the 70s to the much disappointment it sounded like a bad mp3 at 10Kbps!The 70s sounds like MONO no brilliance at all,with hashing on high notes!Yuck!try this go from channel 8 to 7 you will se what I am saying or Classic rewind to channel 7.What have you done Sirius?!!

Nothing sounds good on the XM side,thats why I have Siirus!javascript:void(0);
The audio quality is better on Siirus,and yes I tried both services,Xm has no bass or treble.

To each their own.

Seems they keep adding data to the bandwidth with TV channels and Sirius Traffic,Im sorry I got Sirius now,the sound quality keeps going down,down,down! :mad:

I wish they'd give up on the video and other crap that's buring-up a ton of bandwidth that should go to the music channels.

At the very least they should have gone with XM's slightly better sounding audio technology after the merger instead of Sirius's inferior compression scheme.

Of course back in '01 (with only 70 or so channels) XM could (rightfully) boast near-CD quality. Not anymore. :'(

I find it hard to believe that Sirius Backseat can even breakeven, unless SpongeBob Square Pant's company is giving them huge subsidies to run their shows. It kills me to know that bandwidth is going to crap, and they can't even give you the free freekin WEATHER CHANNEL anymore, you cheap stupid bastards.
The merger was a horrible thing - service is worse, audio quality is worse, costs are higher, no free online, and Mel has ruined the music channels.
So we're paying for commercial free FM stations now is about all.

I was going to ask this on a new post, but found this thread. I just got a new GM car with Sirius/XM and decided against the subscription because of the digital "artifacts" I was hearing. Almost like a low bit rate audio stream. Does anyone know if there are different grade levels of receivers in cars, or is this discussion part of what I was hearing? I have heard better sounding cassettes! Granted, not all of the channels sound bad, but I was really not impressed with the overall audio quality of their service......at least not to pay a monthly fee.

XM channels have been sounding dull and lifeless the past 3 weeks. The only XM channels that POP OUT at you are XM24 and XM161 - both Clear Channel commercial channels that still have wider bandwidth and higher bitrates apparently..
