730 AM & 1180 AM going off at same time during the daytime

I have something weird happen several times over the last couple of weeks. Occasionally, during the middle of the day, both 730AM and 1180AM would be off with very light static. All of the other AM stations on my car radio worked fine.

What would cause that to happen? I have been in Frayser when these stations are out. If it is interference, why aren't other AM stations affected too?
 
all I can think of is maybe a power failure across the bridge that would take them both off. They come from different sites across the river.

Did you happen to notice if 107.1, 90.5, or 990 were also off at the same time?
 
I jackson, MS there use to be a line that would go out from time to time that would knock off 2 television stations and half a dozen radio stations at the same time. The most famous incident was back in the 80's the power went out a during the superbowl pregame show. Knocking the station off the air. It didn't come back on the air until after the game had already started. The station lost over $100,000 in advertising revenue. When the station came back on they put a crawl explaining that it was the power companys fault because they were getting swamped with calls. the only way to get the game was on WJDX AM which had broadcast the game as an after thought not expecting many people to hear it. It turned out to be a jackpot for their advertisers because they had an exclusive for part of the first quarter.
