730 FoxSports sold to new owners

Yes how many time have we heard "we would'nt dream of making any changes with a successful format" on day one, only to have the enitre staff fired 2 days later and be replaced with automated Classic disco/country/Gen X/aaa/samba music/News talk aimed at 23.5 -24.6 year old suburban working housewives.

Well, jeez, ya gotta keep things going for the time necessary to hook up the automation/voice tracking stuff. If they said anything different, they'd have to sign on the plague-taking peanut whistle all by themselves and all they know is the sales side of the equation.

According to the article the new owners are FW Roberts Broadcasting, but it's probably FW Robbert, the same bunch that owns WMQM, WLRM, and WWCR shortwave. Get ready for another dollar a holler station full of crackpots and conspiracy freaks. :-\ ::)

It is the same company that owns WLRM and WMQM.

730 is obviously a much better signal than 1380 and 1600 especially at night.

No doubt, it will be a brokered format.

They need to stop this sham of claiming to be "Christian" stations. They'll sell time to anyone who'll flash enough money in their faces. I talked to someone at WMQM when they first came on and he as much as said so and made no apologies for it.  :p

730 may be better in Memphis at night, but 1600 comes in further out than 1380 or 730 in West TN in the daytime. As it is now with the formats they have (or will probably have once 730 is sold) I could care less if they're even on. But then they probably could care less if they have no listeners at all as long as they're selling airtime. :p

kqpn was owned by the same group who used owned the 2 sports station in austin,tx simmons media. they been selling stations off alot. 4 in waco,tx, several months ago, and 2 in austin,tx just this month and others along time ago.last year are so st. louis missouri other station they owned. they started in austin owning 107.7 the hawk, a classic rock oldies stations in 1997 and bought 2 am station in 2000-2002. sold 107.7 the hawk in 2003 . headquarters in salt lake city utah. about 7 or 8 stations currently.

What are the chances they will simulcast 730 on 1600?
