730 signs back on in Charleston

AM 730 in Charleston has been sold to the owners of 810 AM, and has signed back on a couple days ago with a Catholic talk format from EWTN. It's different from 810, who plays more music, but they simulcast some. They sound like they have gone back to their 5kw signal, sounding much stronger than they did before at 1kw from farther away.

The transmitter is at Wappoo Rd right next to the Stono River, where their studios are. Now, they are just as strong as 1250 here.

A few years back, I could hear 730 all the way down to the Ft. Pierce area in FL in the day, when they were WPAL. Never thought a 1k signal could carry like that....I have learned some things about water paths later on. Now there is a 730 in central FL which might kill your 730....but if it's now 5k, I gotta check that out one day.

1130 in Hilton Head packs a punch too.
