740 KTRH, your TALK station

I came back from out of town the day it flooded from Tropical Storm Erin.. as I was driving in, I wanted to get an update of the pending traffic and road closures... Lo and behold..

Rush Limbaugh was on..

So for KTRH.. the new moniker should be:
"Your Talk station, with news breaks on the top and bottom of the hour, and breaking news as long as we're not playing a syndicated show"

yeah that would be a good liner for them it just pisses me off that every time i wanna hear news on the radio you just can't seem to find it anywere anymore

Strangely - during an ice storm Dec 31st of 2000 up in Dallas - they were putting out warnings every ten minutes NOT to travel to the Dallas area. What did KRLD Dallas do? Had a TAPED program while their newsroom staff got DRUNK at a New Year's party. No telling how many people were injured or died in that ice storm on icy roads because our local "news" station dropped the ball.

For years after that - I had a DX setup at my father's house in Lubbock, so I could pull in KTRH (while nulling a 740 in Carlsbad): just in case I needed current weather conditions. In Dallas. Because KRLD sure wasn't going to tell me anything I needed to know.
