The generator for KTRH's transmitter site near Dayton has conked out, and the programming has moved over to 790. Happened around 4:40pm. Apparently the power grid at the xmtr site has been out since Rita blew through.

Maybe Sam stunk up the place so badly this morning the transmitter blew!

So that's why that little "KBME Houston" was snuck in at the tail end of the Astros broadcast! I happened upon this post just a few moments after I heard that online.

KTRH's Dayton site is on Entergy's grid.....(Originally Gulf States Utilities)
and thus, no power :(
The grid should be back online shortly as Entergy's repair crews are working in that area and Entergy closed the tie at Dayton to Centerpoint Energy's grid (originally built back in the 60s to tie HL&P and GSU..so HL&P could buy power from GSU at cheaper rates than they could generate! and the tie has not been used for 15 years!)
